The Stanley 2 quart thermos I use now was my father's. He bought the thermos in the late 70's-early 80's and carried it to work every day for many years. He was a technician by trade. Now I use it. I take it fishing and camping. When my father bought the Stanley thermos, handles did not come as part of the 2 quart model he wanted. So my dad, being the technician that he was, invented his own handle. The Stanley thermos has a rectangular plastic handle with two straps around the thermos as designed by dad. The entire apparatus is virtually indestructible. Thanks for allowing me to share my story.
